Moab Music Festival: Grotto Concert II

The Festival’s signature events, the Grotto Concerts celebrate “music in concert with the landscape” by combining the beauty of music with the area’s scenic wonders. A relaxing 45-minute jet boat ride down the Colorado River brings you to “nature’s concert hall”, a pristine, acoustically perfect wilderness grotto carved from the surrounding red rock walls.

Light hors d’oeuvres and wine will be served after the concert.

Moab Music Festival: The Music of Russia and Poland

World War I, the Stalinist years, and the oppression of Communist Poland brought these two countries into an uncomfortable sisterhood. Their composers, based in strong National musical traditions, struggled with their respective governments for the rights to individual expressive freedom. This program traces the flowering of their musical tradition in the 19th and 20th centuries, as well as the struggle of the post-war years.

The humor and history of England from the concert stage to the music hall- Gilbert and Sullivan make their Moab debut with their one-act satire on the British legal system, Trial by Jury. The voices of the University of Utah Opera program perform under the direction of Michael Barrett.
